What We Did:
Fashion Rocks is one of our favorite events of all time. Each year, this television special celebrates the phenomenal and transformational relationship between fashion and music. Held at the Barclays Center and hosted by Ryan Seacrest, with performances by Jennifer Lopex, Usher, Pitbull and Nicki Minaj, the event was the hottest ticket in town! We had the good fortune of designing two backstage experiences, one for Maybelline and another for Verizon Wireless. The results were epic.
Why It Rocked:
As the official beauty sponsor of Fashion Rocks, Maybelline created a sexy fall campaign called ‘Rock The Look’. They drummed up passionate fans to vote on their favorite beauty look and asked them to share their choice with the hashtag #RockTheLook. The winning look was announced at Fashion Rocks, and we created the ultimate VIP experience to go with it! We installed black and white lacquered beauty bars with hair and makeup stations, complete with director chairs, makeup mirrors and Hollywood lights! The room buzzed with that ‘behind the scenes’ vibe, set under the razzle-dazzle of a large neon ‘Rock The Look’ sign. All that glamor was captured beautifully with a bunch of step-and-repeat moments… But these were no ordinary step-and-repeats! They were specifically set up in perfectly lit conditions, so fans had perfect instagrammable snaps; including one that automatically turned pictures into GIFS!
